Providing Sanitary Towels to Team Mum Groups
We are delighted that Neli & Co. have selected Child.org as a recipient of their fantastic products.
To kick off the partnership, Neli & Co donated packs of their bamboo sanitary towels to give to women and girls graduating from Child.org’s Team Mum programme in Narok, Kenya.
One of our challenges with Team Mum is ensuring women attend all seven of our Pregnant Women’s Group sessions. We know from our pilot in Meru County that this is much easier when we offer incentives to women, given to them upon graduation. As Child.org scales, this was not an expense we could commit to. Therefore, we are particularly excited to partner with Neli & Co who will support us with donations of pads to be used by women and girls post-birth. Such pads are an expense that many girls in the Narok region cannot afford.
Next Steps
Ruth, Nata and Constance from Child.org received the donation at our Narok office with Emmah and Mirriam from the Sub-County Health Management Team. As you can see – they were very happy to receive them! The first packs will be given out to women and girls graduating from Team Mum in June.
