Why run the Hackney Half Marathon for Child.org?
Every day, pregnant women, mums, and babies still die from completely preventable causes. And in Kenya, a woman is nearly twice as likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth compared to the global average.
But we can change this.
Child.org works to make pregnancy and birth safer for women and babies. To do this, we work with communities and government in Kenya to improve access to, and quality of, life-saving maternal and child health services.
By running the Hackney Half, you will not only raise critical funds to support our work, but also become part of a community of changemakers; helping to build a kinder, fairer and safer world for women and their babies.
How we will support you during the Hackney Half Marathon
Child.org is a small, friendly and passionate team of seasoned fundraisers with a long history of supporting challenge event participants. We really value taking the time to get to know our runners so that we can support you in the best way possible.
You can expect:

- Lots of training and fundraising advice
- Regular communication about all-things-marathon
- A run vest (designed in Kenya!)
