- Lots of training and fundraising advice
- Regular communication about all-things-marathon
- A vest with iron-on letters
- Team presence along the marathon route on race day to cheer you on!
- A pre-race celebration with the Child.org team in London (the Friday before the marathon)
- A dedicated and experienced fundraising officer to give personalised support and advice
Why run with Child.org
Across the globe, mothers and babies are still dying from completely preventable causes. In Kenya, the maternal mortality rate stands at almost twice the global average (KDHS, 2014). These are not just statistics, they represent real mothers, real babies and real communities facing devastating loss.
But we can change this. Child.org champions community-led solutions to maternal and newborn mortality. We work with local governments to strengthen health systems by improving access to quality healthcare, providing essential maternal education, and working with communities to create an environment which recognises the value of empowering women with knowledge and peer support.
Every day, Child.org works tirelessly because we know that reproductive, maternal and newborn healthcare is a human right. This essential work would not be possible without our extraordinary event participants.
More information
- You must be over 18 to apply to run in the London Marathon
- Please read the Terms and Conditions of the event for Child.org
- When do applications open and close? Applications will open in April and close in early July. We will notify every applicant in July to let you know either way.
- How will you assess applications? We have 12 places available for 2026 and we expect that we’ll have more interest than spaces available. Therefore, we ask you to fill out an application form that details why you want to run for Child.org, how much you will fundraise and how you plan to fundraise. It costs the charity to buy places in the London Marathon, so we want our team to be really committed and we’ll evaluate your application on your commitment to fundraising and why you want to run for Child.org.
- What happen if I’m selected but I get injured, I get a ballot place or I want to cancel? Once selected, you’ll need to confirm your place on the team and fill out further information. You can withdraw or decline the offer at this point. If, at a later stage, you get injured or want to withdraw from the 2026 event then speak to the team as soon as possible as we may be able to defer your place.
Applications for the 2026 TCS London Marathon are open until Friday 4th July 2025.
