Salary: 75,000 – 90,000ksh (based upon experience)

The Role
Child.org is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance and Administrative Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in supporting the financial and administrative functions of our operations in Kenya and the UK, ensuring that our programs run smoothly and effectively. The role will be based in our Nairobi office and the candidate will work closely with both the Nairobi and UK teams. Your line manager will be based in the UK, but you will also get lots of support from all the members of the team in the Nairobi office. To be successful in this role, you need to have a high level of organisation, be accountable for your work, be an incredible communicator and detail oriented!
The Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with end-of-month reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Process finance requests related to programming activities and assist the programming team with quarterly budget forecasting.
- Provide support during the annual audited accounts process for both Kenya and UK offices.

- Manage the procurement of office equipment and resources for various projects, including tax requirements.
- Regularly update programming budgets in both Kenyan Shillings (KES) and British Pounds (GBP).
- Liaise with our external Kenyan accountants to ensure Child.org is compliant with Kenyan laws.
- Provide administrative and logistical support on our Ride Africa Cycle event in Kenya throughout the year and in person on the event.
- Be responsible for the procurement, storage and security of Child.org assets in Kenya.
- Any other administrative duties as may be deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in Accounting: CPA II or Accounting degree
- Desirable experience in an international non-governmental organisation
- 2 years experience in accounting or budget management
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience in financial management, including reconciliation, budgeting, and liaising with external accountants.
- Familiarity with Kenyan tax and legal compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using financial and administrative tools, including Google sheets and accounting software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
