Melvin Benn is Child.org’s new Patron

We are delighted that Melvin Benn of Festival Republic has accepted the position of Patron at Child.org.

Melvin has been a fantastic supporter of Child.org’s work over the past 15 years. As a co-creator of the original Ride Africa event (then Making Tracks) Melvin is one of a handful of participants that has ridden every single route of our Ride Africa cycle events, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for our projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. He’s provided the Child.org with multiple fundraising and exposure opportunities, including our Charity Concierge services at a range of UK based festivals.

We are delighted that Melvin has taken on this official role which recognises the importance of his contributions to our work over the years. It’s not an exaggeration to say that at times he has helped our organisation to survive, and ultimately to thrive.

Marti, our CEO, says: “Melvin first visited our projects with his family in 2008, during my first visit to Kisumu when I started working at Child.org. Since then, Melvin’s consistent support for our work has provided enormous opportunity for our growing charity. He’s introduced us to so many partners, riders and supporters, all of whom have become integral members of the Child.org family that have enabled us to work with more communities across Kenya and beyond.

“We are enormously grateful for Melvin’s continued support and to be able to recognise the importance of his contribution with the official title of Patron.”
