Our Team Mum campaign will run from 20 September- 20 December 2020.
Child.org need this campaign to fund the new project near Kisumu for pregnant teenage girls. With schools closed, teenage pregnancy has spiked and these young mums need our support more than ever. But with other fundraising projects, like Ride Africa, delayed - the funding we need to raise to launch this project is uncertain.
Your committment now to support the appeal later in the year will help us predict our income at this uncertain time. Make a pledge now and let us know how you can help. We've suggested some things you can do, but you're just as welcome to make your own suggestion! If you fill in this form, we'll be in touch ahead of the campaign to thank you for your pledge and provide the support and resources you need.
Sell That Thing
Sell That Thing for Team Mum is about selling something you don't need (perhaps a toy your child doesn't play with or good quality clothes), and donating the proceeds. When charity shops reopen after lockdown they are set to be overwhelmed with donations, so storing items now and selling them during the Team Mum appeal can do everyone a favour! You could sell your things through an app like Shpock, organise a clothes swish with a few of your friends, or a larger bring-and-buy sale within your community!
Safari Bike Ride
A safari bike ride is a kids' bike ride, with a Kenyan theme! We'll be organising a flagship event in Richmond park, London, where you'll buy a place to join in, and encourage your child to fundraise. Kids taking part will receive a gorgeous safari passport pack, with pre-event activities, room to record their fundraising and space to collect animal stickers on the ride as they spot the big five!
We're also looking for event organisers and community heroes to organise events in your local area. Whether it's just a few of your kid's friends riding round the local park, or a bigger community event where you invite all the local schools to join in, we'll provide an event pack that takes you through organising the event, step by step, with the resources you need: from promotion posters and risk assessment checklists to stickers and certificates.
If you've selected "other" above, have a different idea or just want to say something to the team, you can type it here!
