Together we are encouraging people to List it. Sell it. Donate it and asking you, our brilliant supporters, to rummage through your house for items you no longer need or use, list them on the Shpock app and donate all or some of the proceeds to Team Mum. And as an added bonus, Shpock will donate all of its seller fees for items tagged with #teammum.
The concept came from blogger Mum Muddling Through who did something similar during our 2019 appeal. We loved it and so did Shpock, so we decided to make decluttering for good a focus of this year's campaign! Anyone can get involved and with many of us stuck at home and working remotely over this past year, we’ve all probably discovered a few things that we no longer need.
If you want, you could go the extra mile, by organising a List it. Sell it. Donate it. event* like a clothes swap, car boot sale or Facebook group, inviting friends to come along and sell their old items and donate the profits to Team Mum.
This year’s Team Mum campaign will equip pregnant women with the knowledge and support they need to make pregnancy, motherhood and early infancy safe for themselves and their new-born babies; by aiming to provide 500 Baby Boxes to new mums in Kenya. As with most countries around the world, the long-term impact of Covid-19 is unpredictable but we know that mums and babies need our support more than ever to access vital healthcare information.
The campaign kicks off today and will be running until 20th January 2021. To get involved, all you need to do is download the Shpock app, list an item using #TeamMum, sell it and donate all or some of the proceeds - so get decluttering!
